Len held his gun on the guard, watching him until he left the area. He didn't trust any guard, so he was going to wait and see what he would do, and was pleasantly surprised when he actually did what he said he was going to do and left him to it.

"Oh, I'm no gentleman," he said, turning back to Alice. He waited a moment, then pulled his gun up to his shoulder. He wasn't quite ready to put it away yet.
